Bereits im Mai hatte ich die Tischsets zugeschnitten. Dann kam die Tennissaison und großes Ausmisten und die Sets blieben in der Projektkiste liegen. Im Rahmen meines Ufoabbaus durften sie aus der Kiste raus und wurden fertig gestellt.
Den Stoff habe ich vor langer Zeit bei Frau Krüger von ‘Die Werkstatt’ gekauft – als die Werkstatt noch in Weiterstadt war. Mittlerweile ist sie in Groß-Gerau… Die Stoffserie ist Bistro by Deb Strain for Moda.
Insgesamt sind es sechs Sets – immer zwei sind gleich.
Ich habe die Sets sehr sparsam im Nahtschatten und um zwei Motive gequiltet. Das Binding ist 2 1/4 inch und ich habe zum ersten Mal das Binding auch mit der Maschine angenäht (an Quilts nähe ich es hinten von Hand an). Ich hatte es gesteckt, aber es hat nicht sehr gut funktioniert. Beim nächsten Mal versuche ich es mit Wonderclips.
I already cut the fabrics for this place mats in May. Then the tennis season started and we were mega-decluttering our home and the sets lived in it’s project box. During my attempt to reduce my number of ufos I let them out and finished them.
I bought this fabric long time ago at Die Werkstatt in Weiterstadt. In the meanwhile it moved to Groß-Gerau.

They are six mats in total – there are always two the same design.
I quilted the place mats in the ditch and around two of the motifs. The binding is 2 1/4 inches wide and it was the first time I sewed it with the machine completly (when I do quilts I handpiece the binding on the back). I pined it but it didn’t work out very well. Next time I will use wonderclips.

Hallo Katja,
das sind perfekte Tischsets für Kaffee-Liebhaber :-) Binding mit der Maschine annähen klappt bei mir nie. Tischsets nähe ich öfter ohne Binding. Ich schneide die Rückseite entsprechend größer, quilte und schlage den Rand dann nach vorne um, so dass ein Rand entsteht. Der lässt sich dann gut mit der Maschine nähen.
