Ich hatte es letzte Woche ja schon geschrieben. Das Ufo wartet auf eine Stoffnachlieferung und deshalb habe ich die bereits zugeschnittenen Sterne #5 genäht.

I already mentioned it last week. My current Ufo is waiting for fresh fabric from the store and therefore I pieced the already cut stars #5.

Das Ufo hat jetzt einen grünen Rand, aber es ist immer noch zu klein. Da muss ich mir im Nähstübchen noch Stoff für den roten Rand holen.
Deshalb geht es jetzt erstmal weiter mit den Oh my Stars Blöcken. Die Sterne #1, #2, #3 sind fertig. Stern #4 ist mir gerade zu kleinteilig, #5 ist zugeschnitten, aber noch nicht fertig genäht.

The Ufo now has a green border and is still to small. I have to pick up some red fabric at the Nähstübchen to continue.
Therefore I continued with the Oh my Stars blocks. Star #1, #2, #3 are finished. Star #4 has to many tiny pieces, Star #5 is cut already, but not finished piecing.

In der Facebookgruppe der Patchworkgilde werden die Sterne des ‘Oh my stars’ quilt-along als deutschsprachige Anleitung angeboten. Ich habe die fertige Größe des Quilts auf die ‘Kellerquilterbedürfnisse’ umgerechnet und nähe jetzt (aus der Restekiste) die ersten neun Sterne in der Stückelung 1*groß, 2*mittel und 3*klein mit. (Der Quilt-Along geht über 15 Sterne in drei Größen und es werden 1*groß, 2*mittel und 5*klein genäht).
Das ist das erste Muster: Basic Sawtooth star.
Sehr interessant ist die Art und Weise, wie die Flying Geese genäht werden. Die Anleitung ist auf englisch, aber die Bilder sprechen für sich.

The facebook group of the german quilt guild offers a translated version of ‘oh my stars’ quiltalong. I calculated the number of blocks I need for a ‘Kellerquilter’ comfortable size and will piece 9 different patterns out of 15. I will need only three of the five little stars. On the pic are the stars of the first pattern: Basic Sawtooth star.
Quite interesting is the way the flying geese are pieced. Never thought about doing it this way.
