Quiltiges Wochenende

Quiltfest Taunus

Last Saturday was the 5th edition of the annual 'Quiltfest im Taunus' in Niedernhausen-Niederseelbach.

There were 30 vendor-booths and some workshops. I met four of my quilt group ladies there and we did some shopping. I had some things on my shopping list e.g. some notions I will need for the class which will take place next week with Bernadette Mayr.
Apart from this I promised the piece some blocks for Quilts4Leukaemia and I take part in a private pincushion swap.

I show was visited by many quilts - which was good for the vendors - but it was very hard to get into the first line to have a look at everything. Afterwards we had some cake and coffee and had the same conversations like MayBritt describes in her blog today.

Some red and whites for Quilts4Leukaemia, some FQs for the pincushion and some yarn dyed by Anne Lage.

Quilt show

The quilt show is over and I caught a cold after the show, but I'm feeling better now. It's a pity, but I can't show you pictures, because I was so busy during the show. (One member of the group took a lot of pictures and I will show you some of the pictures in a future post).

We had a lot of visitors and the comments on our guestbook are always positive. Okay, I don't think that anyone would leave a negative comment. We sold some handmade goods and we raffeled a quilt.

On Saturday I have been working in our 'coffee shop' for nearly four hours while the others were working at the cashiers desk or talking to friends. We invited a lot of quilting friends from other groups and guilds and a lot came. I also invited Quiltinchen from blogland and she came with her mother and her mother's neighbour. (thanks for the nice comment in our guestbook).
Only one of my friends made it on Saturday but a lot of friends came on Sunday. So I showed them around, drank a lot of coffee and sparkling wine and had a lot of lovely chats.

It's showtime

On Wednesday I made the last stitch on my 'Sail away'-quilt, but the label is still missing. The quilt was on my goal-list quite a long time.

Yesterday we started to prepare the rooms for the show. The husbands and adult sons of our members carried and mounted the moveable walls.
At the moment my first cake is baking (and gives the house a wonderful smell) and I will prepare the second cake when I will have finished the post.
This afternoon we will meet again to hang the quilts and make the whole decoration.

I will show you more pic and give you a report about the show beginning next week.

Enjoy the weekend!
