Wip Wednesday–16.01.2013

During the week-end I pieced some more blocks of my scrap quilts and while I cleaned out my cupboard I found the background fabric I used for the five blocks of the 2011 x-mal SAL designed by Sew happy me. The fabric disappeared after a sudden clearance.

I immediatly traced the two missing blocks and started stitching. I don’t know yet what I will do with the seven blocks. I have now space for a garland. Maybe I will add two blocks of another design like Bente did. Fabric is available again.

Kreuzstich-Herz/ cross-stitched heart

Kreuzstichherz

In my July-review I wrote that I’m working on a cross-stitch kit.

This was the hearted heart, sold by dmc supporting the pink ribbon foundation.

It was a gift from Angelika.

Wip Wednesday–23.11.2011

When Liz of Moments blogs her Finished Friday on Sunday then I can blog my Wip Wednesday on Friday. On Wednesday I had no time to blog because I was sitting in Liz studio having coffe, laughing, chatting and stitching.
I’m still working on the x-mas SAL of Sew happy me. I traced all blocks and nearly finished my three blocks.
In between I’m still knitting x-mas presents. Last week I had an imflammation in my left hand and wasn’t able to do anything. But the number of dates and deadlines is decreasing and I hope that I have some time for my hobby while x-mas is approaching.

Wip Wednesday–19.10.2011

Bente von I like to Quilt hat schon alle vier bisher verfügbaren Blöcke plus ihren eigenen Extragblock fertig.

After cutting some more Scraps, I started stitching one block of Sew happy me X-mas SAL. Till now I have only one block finished. Bente of I like to Quilt already finished all four available blocks and her own additional block.

OUAT Sleeping Beauty finished

Apart from Flowers I also took the unfinished stitchery blocks of last years 'Once upon a time...' BOM with me.
I finished Sleeping Beauty and made some progress on two other blocks which I can hopefully finish in August.
(You can see the finished blocks here)

OUAT cinderella and snow white finished

One of my January goals was to finish another 'Once upon a time ...' block of Bea's last years BOM.

I finished the block of July Cinderella. I have to admit that the block was already halfway finished.

I also finished the block of August Snow-White. The pattern was already transfered to the fabric and I only needed to do the stitching.

OUAT ... March and May Blocks

I didn't show your the finished March block of Snowwhite and Rosered.

And I finished the May block of Jorinda and Joringel. My seven year old son has a bock with all fairy tales of the Grimm Brothers. When he was younger he liked to listen to these fairy tales and they were his favorite bedtime stories. He remembered Jorinda and Joringel very well, but I never heard of it before.

The gallant tailor

Today I made the last stitches on the April's Block of Bea's Once upon a time ... BOM: the gallant tailor. Before I start the block I pull out my kid's fairy tale book and read the fairy tale again.

I also finished the march block of 'snow-white and rose-red, but I forget to take a picture.

(When I upload the pictures I choose small and centred. When I look at the preview everything is fine, but when the post is published, blogger cut away the right hand side. Do you all have that problem and do you know a solution to prevent this?)

Once upon a time: Rapunzel

I'm getting a bit bored to follow my goals and I started a few new things, but nothing to show yet, because a lot of UFOs and no FOs.

But I finished the first block of Bea's Bom Once upon a time and I'm close to finish the March block.

Despite this spring has finally arrived and I spent a lot of time sitting outside in the sun and watching the children flourish by the sun. We even left home only wearing sweaters and don't care what the thermometer says. We want it to be warm and we will force the spring to stay ;-)

February Stitcheries

I finished another stitchery of last years Faulgraben BoM and started a second.

I couldn't resist the 'Once upon a time ...' BoM any longer and I started with the Block of Febuary 'Frog King'. Til now I always transfered the pattern with a pencil and a lightbox onto the fabric. This time I tried to transfer the pattern with a iron-on pen. The lines were thick and I have problems to get rid of it. I have the impression that the line disappears through daylight when there is no stitchery. The instruction says that it will be water-soluble but this doesn't work.

on the stitching side

I managed to catch up with the Redwork BOM blocks for August, Septembre and the first bonus block. Due to a printer problem I will have to wait to continue with Octobre, but there are also some blocks of the Faulengraben BOM missing.

Finished: BOM Faulengraben 3 March and April

Beside the redwork bom by Bea of Capricornquilts there is also a summer-fall bom designed by Jutta of Faulengraben.

The stitchery was done each month but the patchwork part was done today. The flying geese border on the March block is still missing but I will piece all four borders at one time.

At the March block I didn't stich exaclty the pattern Jutta designed, but I took the inspiration and did some free stitching.
At the April block I didn't appliequé the pottery I only stitched it.
