Linen skirt

I already wrote about the linen skirt in this Picovoli post.

I found a pattern for an easy skirt in a magazin. The fabric was cut crosswise to the grain for better drape. It had no waistband but a elastic band sewn in a tunnel. I looked like fifth month pregnant.

I took the linen skirt to my sewing class. With the help of my teacher we inserted some tucks and added a waistband. We also inserted a invisible zipper on the left hand side. The only problem is that the linen cut crosswise to the grain is very elastic and after three attempts to sew in the zipper properly there are still some bumps. Maybe they will disappear when the skirt was washed for the first time.
