Sail away quilt
The goal to finish my Sail Away Quilt has been on my goals bar quite a long time. As I mentioned here I thought it would be very smart to avoid the applique and piece everything. It turned out a bit complicated with all the parts fitting together with this 60° thing. Nearly two weeks ago I draw the decision to rip the seams of the boat parts and only piece a sea and then (machine)applique the boats.
After this decision made I have more progress than the weeks before. The sea is finished and I also cut the fabrics for the boats.
I showed the top during the last group meeting and Heide had the idea to turn over the small boats and machine appliqué the large boats – filled with an additional layer of batting.
But before I can do this I will piece the borders.
